Holland to Edge, Rosson to CEO, ex-NFLers to the Agency

Kevin Holland returned to Edge Realty Partners’ capital markets team in Houston after two years at Cushman & Wakefield. His brother, advisor Britton Holland, also made the move to Edge from Cushman. Britton Holland has designed software to identify possible development sites using satellite imagery and AI. Kevin Holland was a principal at Edge from 2016 to 2020.

This year has been unique in his 20-year career in the industry, Holland said. The high costs of land, labor and debt make retail development risky even while space is in high demand.

“The market continues to get healthier in terms of rent growth, and there’s a muted amount of new development in the pipeline,” he said.

Here are a few other recent moves in Texas real estate:

Carolyn Rosson was promoted to CEO and president of Dallas-based Ebby Halliday Companies, according to a news release published in the Fort Worth Report. She was previously president of the company. The former CEO, Mary Frances Burleson, died last November. Betsy Cameron was promoted to senior vice president of operations, and Chris Kelly remains executive chairman.

Two former NFL athletes, MJ McFarland and Peyton Thompson, have joined the Agency in Austin. McFarland previously worked for Moreland Properties, and Thompson worked at Twelve Rivers Realty. McFarland played tight end for the University of Texas at Austin, and he signed with the Dallas Cowboys in 2017. Thompson played safety at San Jose State University and was signed by several NFL teams; he got the most playing time with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Their foundation, Player’s Reach, aims to uplift the children of low-income Austin residents.

Compass added multiple brokers across the Dallas and Austin metros. The Brink Realty Group, previously of Keller Williams, has joined Compass’ Park Cities office in Dallas. The team of Michael Brink, Joshua Pool and Justin Bustamante did $28 million in sales volume last year, according to a news release from Compass.
